Organization Facts
Kappa Sigma has a rich history that extends all the way back to 1400 A.D. at the University of Bologna in Italy. It was formed by Manuel Chrysoloras, professor at Bologna, to protect students from the corrupt governor Baldassare Cossa. Kappa Sigma was founded in North America on December 10th, 1869 at the University of Virginia. Today, there are over 300 chapters across the nation and in Canada with over 10,000 undergraduates and over 250,000 living alumni.
